The fourth day of racing at the Volta ao Algarve saw the riders faced with a challenging 22 kilometre time trial route, that included several rolling hills and grippy sections. Aiming out to get through the day well and unscathed, plus following their pacing plans, Team dsm-firmenich PostNL managed to do just that with Martijn Tusveld the team’s fastest rider on the day.
Tusveld said: “Today’s TT was a nice route that went up and down all the time. Personally, I’m happy I could follow the pacing plan pretty well. For me, this first race after six months of not racing is about getting stronger towards the upcoming races and that’s going really well. Tomorrow we have one more day for us to race aggressively and go all out as a team!”
