After yesterday evening’s prologue, Development Team dsm-firmenich PostNL took on the first road stage of this year’s Tour Alsace, with an uphill finish in Ferrette. It was an attacking and hard day in Alsace, where Thom van der Werff and Oliver Peace stayed in the main group over the main climbs, and it came down to their legs on the final ascent. Oliver Peace led the team home, not far behind the winning duo.
Peace said: “From the start onwards, we were in the front, getting involved in moves until a small break went, and we tried to come together in the middle part. Thom and I managed to hold on to the front group over the main climbs and did what we could on the uphill finish.”
