August was an outstanding month for Team dsm-firmenich PostNL, both on and off the bike. We know it’s hard to keep track of everything that happens, but we are here for you. As every month, here is a quick overview of the most important developments in no more than 500 words – quite a challenge after this month!
For both our Women’s and Men’s programs, the biggest focus of the month was the last of the Grand Tours. While the women were preparing for the Tour de France Femmes, which began in the Netherlands, the men prepared for the Vuelta. Kicking off their Spanish campaign, they lined up for Vuelta Burgos – a race the team has good memories of. This edition proved no different, as the team led Pavel Bittner to his first two professional victories in the sprints, and Max Poole finished second in the GC, missing out on overall victory by only five seconds!
Just a week later, the team delivered another great performance at the Tour of Denmark. On the opening day, they won the team time trial, before local hero Tobias Lund Andresen sprinted to two victories – bringing his tally to five wins in 2024.
It wasn’t just the Men’s program who stole the spotlight this month; the Women’s program shone as well. The Tour de France Femmes began with three stages in the Netherlands, making it a very special occasion for the team, and we couldn’t have asked for a better start. Ahead of the race, we announced that together with our partner PostNL, we will introduce equal minimum salaries for both our Men’s and Women’s programs from 2025 onwards, helping to bridge the gender pay gap. This is a step the whole team is incredibly proud of, and you can find out more about it here.
