Team DSM’s performance setup: Team DSM to ride the Scope Atmoz at Paris-Roubaix

When it comes to innovative concepts in the team’s high-performance setup, the realisation of the fastest athletic performance race wear with integrated protection stands out. Today, further integration of rider safety into Team DSM’s fast, high-performance equipment setup is announced as the team, along with Scope Cycling confirm that after rigorous testing in training and racing, they will race with their on-bike tyre pressure management system: Scope Atmoz.

What is Scope Atmoz?

To put it simply, the system allows riders to increase or decrease their tyre pressure whilst on the bike, via the remote buttons on their handlebar.

The main working principle of the system is an air reservoir, and a release system based on mechanical valves which are secured around the hub of the wheel. The air reservoir is mounted inside a tubeless tyre. Through the push of a button on the handlebar, a wireless signal is sent to the system to open release valves in the centre hub to deflate or inflate the tyre – meaning the rider can instantly react to any change in road or race conditions, such as a cobblestone section or in a sudden downpour of rain. It is important to note that no motors or compressors are involved in the system.

What benefits does the system bring?

This new innovation helps the team make another step in further integrating elements of rider safety into their setup, without compromising on performance, and ultimately helping to improve performance overall. Riders can react to not only cobblestone sections, but any inclement and sudden weather conditions such as a rain shower, activating the system to achieve the optimum grip and rolling resistance – allowing them to handle the bike with more confidence, thus increasing performance and safety.

When can you see the system in use?

You can see the Scope Atmoz in action as Team DSM take it into battle over the bone-shaking cobblestones at the Hell of the North, i.e. Paris-Roubaix, on Sunday 9^th of April. The team will continue to use this in their setup where they see it advantageous from now.
