The Tour de Suisse Women continued its climbing challenges today with a 15.7-kilometer mountain time trial from Aigle to Villars-sur-Ollons. Team dsm-firmenich PostNL displayed a solid team performance, placing three riders in the Top 20. Becky Storrie set a solid benchmark, holding the hot seat for a significant time before the main GC contenders arrived. Storrie finished 16th, just ahead of her teammate Nienke Vinke, who took 18th place. The best performance came from Juliette Labous, who managed her pace well throughout the trial, securing fourth place on the day and moving up to fifth in the GC.
Reflecting on her performance, Labous commented, “It was a special time trial with it being mostly uphill. I started well on the TT bike and then we switched to the road bike. I felt really good at the bottom, so I went hard to really try to go for the win, but I had to decrease my power a little bit in the final. I’m quite pleased with today; my shape is where I wanted it to be for now. I am looking forward to the two more hard days coming up, which are gonna be very interesting.”
