Team dsm-firmenich PostNL made it three wins in a row at the Tour of Türkiye, as Frank van den Broek took the team’s fourth win of the week in today’s queen stage. Not only celebrating his first victory for the Men’s program, Van den Broek also takes over the race lead from teammate Tobias Lund Andresen as the race heads into the weekend.
Building on the amazing results of previous days, the team took responsibility in the peloton early on and helped to set the pace behind the five-men breakaway. While Julius van den Berg helped in the chase, the rest of the team looked after Van den Broek to bring him to the final climb as fresh as possible. Coming into the lower slopes of the ascent, Van den Berg made a last push to bring Van den Broek into a nice position towards the front. There, Van den Broek stayed calm when the first attacks went and tried to save as much energy as possible. With two kilometres to go he dug deep and followed on the steeper slopes and found himself in the leading trio, while the road then started becoming flatter. In the sprint, he showed the best punch to the line, taking a magnificent win and moving into the leader’s jersey with Team dsm-firmenich PostNL.
