Team dsm-firmenich PostNL’s Development program was in action on Friday at the Youngster Coast Challenge. The wind had a significant impact on the race and caused quite a bit of chaos throughout the day. The team gave their best to follow the leaders but missed out a bit on fighting for a result in the end. Nevertheless, the guys still demonstrated solid teamwork during the race, showed good fighting spirit, and gained valuable experience to bounce back in the next races.
After the race, Vincent Bodet said: “Today, positioning was very important to stay as fresh as possible for the final. The first part of the race was relatively calm, but when we arrived at the Kemmelberg, a group of 40 guys formed. When we reached the Moeren, Oliver and I fought to stay with the group, which was losing members due to the strong sidewind. Shortly after, Oliver and I had to let a group of 15 riders go. We tried our best to come back but couldn’t close the gap. In the end, I tried to sprint with what I had left and finished 30th.”
