After yesterday’s punchy opening stage, Team dsm-firmenich PostNL took on the queen stage of this year’s Tour of Norway edition. The guys were sharp from the beginning and Sean Flynn jumped into the breakaway of the day. They worked well together and got a gap of more than five minutes on the chasing peloton. Despite their strong ride, they got caught back on the lower slopes of the final climb. In the peloton, Martijn Tusveld was brought into a good position ahead of the climb and he was the first rider to cross the finish line today.
Speaking after the stage Flynn said: “The first goal for today was to get one of us into the breakaway to see how far it could go into the stage. It took a while to go but eventually, I made it into the right move. We cooperated well in the break and in the end made the bunch work hard, but unfortunately, we were caught back on the final climb so no result. However the guys did a good job in the peloton to position Martijn for the climb, so all in all, it was a good day out.”
