Team dsm-frimenich PostNL continued their impressive form at Tour of Türkiye this week, taking their second win of the event in Wednesday’s reduced bunch sprint with Tobias Lund Andresen. The win also marks a special third victory this season from one of the team’s exciting young talents who have came through the Development program; after Oscar Onley at Tour Down Under and Casper van Uden at AlUla Tour earlier in the year.
With spirits high in the group after opening stage success and other promising results, Team dsm-firmenich PostNL set out with the aim of once again competing for a top result on Wednesday’s stage. Knowing it could be a challenging day, the team had multiple plans depending on how the race unfolded. Over the climbs the peloton upped the pace and the bunch thinned down dramatically. Julius van den Berg and Frank van den Broek were left in the front alongside Lund Andresen, with the Team dsm-firmenich PostNL trio working well together. Coming into the finale, Van den Berg and Van den Broek brought Lund Andresen forward perfectly and into a position where he could launch his sprint. Learning from his third place the other day, Lund Andresen didn’t hesitate and produced a devastating kick, giving everything to the line – sitting up to celebrate a first professional win with Team dsm-firmenich PostNL.
